Gospel for a Crisis Pregnancy

“What’s Jesus got to do with my crisis pregnancy – what would He know of the burden I carry inside me?!”

Jesus wrote in The Bible extensively about women of all ages in crisis.

At a time when women were thought so little of that their testimony in court was deemed worthless, Jesus chose women to be the first to testify of His rising from the dead! Which was the most important testimony of world history! And important to you because it was a proof that you too can have a new life in Him. A new start. And it so often begins with a crisis…

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22 AKJV

A crisis will often bring us to a place of helplessness. A crossroad. Without direction you can feel overwhelmed and hopelessly lost. From personal experience this is the best time to call on The Lord. Only when you hit rock bottom, will the need of a Saviour be apparent to you…

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. Psalm 18 3-6 AKJV

“So Jesus is God?”

Yes! The Bible begins and ends with Jesus! Can you imagine having God help you! Take a look at these scriptures…
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.John 1:1 AKJV

Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen. Revelation 1 17-18 AKJV

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3 14-18 AKJV

“OK, Jesus is God, and He died on the cross in my place for my sins and all I have to do is believe to be righteous?!”

Yes! The Gospel is beautifully simple; sin entered into the world through Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the garden of Eden. The wages of sin is death. We all are born with a sinful nature and doomed to die an eternal death of fire and outer darkness. But God sent His Son Jesus to offer us a way of escape. None of us is good enough to get to Heaven by ourselves. We need a Saviour. God had to come to us. Through being made incarnate by The Holy Ghost, Jesus became man in the young unmarried virgin, Mary. A huge pregnancy crisis in her day!
Jesus lived a sinless life being both 100% God yet 100% man! The Bible tells us there can be no remission of sin without the shedding of blood. So Jesus willingly laid down His life for us and whilst we were still sinners, He shed His Holy Blood and died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice required by the law of God. He was buried and rose again on the third day having conquered death. He spent time eating and teaching with His followers for forty days before ascending to Heaven to sit at the right hand of God The Father. He will return one day to judge the living and the dead. If we’ve repented of our sin and been baptized we are no longer under judgement and will at the point of our death be present with Our Lord Jesus. To share an eternity of joy with Him. Until then He has sent The Holy Spirit to dwell within every believer to strengthen us to repent from our sins and go into all the world proclaiming the Gospel to everyone.

“What’s Repent?”

Repent means acknowledging your sinfulness to a Thrice Holy God (God The Father, Son and Holy Ghost) and asking God to forgive you and turning from your sin and abiding in Christ Jesus. Read this…

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised usup together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2 1-10 AKJV

So repent, believe, get baptized abide in Jesus and God will adopt you!

“God will adopt me!?”

Yes! read this wonderful promise…

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? and what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? and what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them;and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 6 14-18

“sounds good, maybe I’ll think about it tomorrow”

OK, but bear these scriptures in mind…

Boast not thyself of to morrow;
for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27 1 AKJV

Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters,
whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan:
and the land was polluted with blood.
Thus were they defiled with their own works,

and went a whoring with their own inventions. Psalm 106 37-39 AKJV

We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2 Corinthians 6 1-2 AKJV

I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20 12-15 AKJV
